GRANTS MAKE AN IMPACT

Students from 10 area school districts experienced how awesome ecology is with rockin’ eco hero, Steve Trash! Steve Trash visited The Orpheum Theatre as part of the Youth Entertainment Series (YES!). Galesburg Community Foundation is proud to support the Youth Entertainment Series through a Competitive Grant. YES!, is offered free of charge to home schools and public schools and is educational in nature.

GCF invites organizations to apply for grants that will benefit the communities and residents of Knox and Warren Counties. Our grants help local nonprofits provide quality programming that benefits the people who call our service area home.

The following grant opportunities are available to nonprofits serving Knox & Warren Counties:

Competitive Grants

Competitive Grants provide funding to aid nonprofits providing programs serving Knox and Warren Counties.

The 2018 Competitive Grant cycle opens Thursday, June 21 with a mandatory grant training.

In order to apply for a Competitive Grant one representative from your organization must be in attendance. The meeting will be offered at two different times, the first from Noon- 1:00 at The Orpheum Theatre, located at 57 S Kellogg St in Galesburg. The noon session is a brown bag lunch. The second offering will be held from 4:30- 5:30 at Galesburg Community Foundation, located at 246 E Main Street, Suite 101, Galesburg.

Capacity Grants

Members of The Nonprofit Network may apply for grants of up to $1,500 for equipment (not to include vehicle purchases or bricks & mortar projects), professional development and training, strategic planning, or endowment development.  Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Organizations are eligible to receive one grant award per twelve month period.

Discretionary Grants

At the discretion of GCF’s President & CEO, small grants of $500 or less may be awarded for purposes of improving the quality of life in the community. Awards are granted in the areas of education, physical activity, health care, and arts. These grants are awarded as applications are received.
